The Poison Of Religion
1st remember....Christianity is a religion, but not all religions is Christianity!!!
The Poison Of Religion, Whomever It Comes From!!!
If you read The Bible, The New Testament, we discover a Jesus who is in fact frequently embroiled in conflict-------most of which He provokes Himself (like healing on the Sabbath). And every single one of these clashes is with VERY religious people. NOT ONE HOSTILE ENCOUNTER INVOLVES A "PAGAN". Not until the end, at least, when the Roman troopers get a hold of Him----but He was handed over by who?------the religious establishment.
If you were reading the Gospels without bias or assumption, you would have no trouble whatsoever coming to believe that religion is the enemy-----or in the hands of the enemy. Jesus' opponents are all people we would consider to be highly invested in doing religion right. They certainly considered themselves to be so. You will want to keep this in mind if you would know Jesus, really.~ John Eldredge (From The Book "Beautiful Outlaw")
Other excerpts:
The deceiver of Christ wants to distort Him, and he does it through religious people.
Millions of people who have spent years attending church, don't really know God. Their heads are filled with stuffing about Jesus, but they do not experience Him, like His 12 disciples did.
There are millions more who love Jesus Christ but experience Him only occasionally, more often stumbling along short of the life He promised, like Lazarus, these are still wrapped in their grave clothes. Can anything be more diabolical? (This is the damage, people who think they know, but truly don't know, the real Jesus, who is the original outlaw).
Religion gives the impression of having Christ, while it inoculates you from experiencing the Real Thing, (like a flu shot, you just get a little touch of the flu, and it keeps you from getting whole deal).
If you want to destroy an economy, flood the market with COUNTERFEIT BILLS. (If you want to destroy the cause of Christ & His teachings, flood the world with a bunch of counterfeit christians).
************************************************
Some people KNOW the real Truth, some think they do, some are turned off because they won't even try to find it, and get aggravated at those who have & judge those who are not for sure, so they just repeat what they have heard, whether it's pro or con. Which breeds confusion to many. If you are so lead, google these words "the author of confusion" and see who it points it's finger at. God Bless ~ Cochise

It's Not That Hard!!!
We, or I do anyway, make being a Christian so hard. Today God told me He loves me, period. Not God loves because, but He loves me without strings attached.
I cannot do anything to make Him stop loving me, even when I disappoint Him with selfish desires and ambitions.
I cannot do anything to make Him love me more, though I can satisfy Him by being obedient to the direction of the Holy Spirit.
I sometimes walk a razor's edge in Christianity, but I don't have too, because God Loves Me!!! ~ Cochise (Let Your Fire Burn)

What utter confusion!!!
People see God as someone they feel they have to give gifts to, in order to receive His blessings. Personally I think that sounds more like what a Rock Star or Politician wants. People follow and kiss these people's butts so they can get a little recognition or a pat on the back, (maybe). It's like, "Man, if I chase after these rich pompous asses long enough, they may smile at me someday."
Of course I have never been a groupie of anyone's. Whether it's the prez or the pope, they put their britches on (I think the pope wears pants) one leg at a time, just like me! That's why some folks don't like me in the mag business, because I never exalted nor edified one laborer above another, not even the check writer. And that's why some pastors dislike me, because I wouldn't put them on a pedestal.........above their congregation. They forget that verse that says, "We must decrease, so that HE must increase". (Oh Lord, couldn't we all use a little dose (or two) of repentance & humility!!!)
Well, God ain't like that Homey. He is more like a parent. You know the ones that take care of you and loves you regardless of your mess ups. I'm sure there are exceptions, but a normal mom or pop doesn't want your gifts, they want you!!!
So, you need to see God as your Parent, not as Axle Rose, Mick Jagger, Justin Beanbag, or Two Quarter ($0.50). He is rich and needs NOTHING. I mean what can you GIVE Him that He doesn't already own???
How about it mother, father, what would you rather have from your babies, a $20 gift card to Wally World, a new blender, a sweet checkered tie OR a visit and some time with your off springs? Think about it!!!

Fan Or Follower?
Being a secret admirer of Jesus will cost you nothing, but being a true follower comes with a high price tag, it always does.
When a person lays it ALL down to become His disciple, the war begins, from the White House, to the Family Home, to the Devil's Hell, but the fight is worth it in the end.
As Kyle Idleman asks, "Are You a Fan of Jesus' or a Follower?"
Are you willing to lay down your religion for a relationship, with Him? ~ Cochise

Atta Boy!!!
THANK YOU LORD JESUS FOR SENDING US THE SWEET HOLY SPIRIT!!! I LOVE "ATTA BOYS", AND HERE IS ONE FROM A MAGAZINE ADVERTISER!!!
Greetings Cochise! This is Brad from the Junkyard Saloon. I noticed the
Junkyard Saloon ad in the mag and I wanted to thank you for that, so,
Thanks! But that's not the main reason I'm contacting.
I wanted to tell you that the most moving, important and exciting thing
I've ever read outside of the Bible was in your mag. I sat down on the
crapper with your mag at 4am in the bar alone, taking a break from my
cleaning duties. I saw a lengthy article and started reading it,
Prophecy through Gary Carpenter.
When I realized how serious it was, I wiped, washed and sat at the table to finish reading. I teared up just about after every paragraph. I praised and thanked Him. I was able to relate to the folks in biblical times that were blessed to be in the
presence of true prophecy.
I felt like Jesus was speaking straight to me! He was/is present in those words. Just amazing. So, I wanted to congratulate you for heeding Gods call and printing that article. You have no idea how happy I was to read that. It was like walking 30 miles of desert and coming up on Wet N' Wild! It was just what I needed to
prepare to take the next step.
What's the next step? Not sure yet, but I know what I must do to find out. Anyway, if tons of other folks are pissed at that article, at least you know you got me. I will be passing it onto other folks.
Your Brother in Christ,
-Brad

Oh The Pain I Feel!!!!
I hear people speak of REVIVAL, as if all we have to do is ask God to send it and it will come. That's not going to happen. II Chronicles 7:14 gives us insight to revival, but that's not all it's going to take.
It's going to take a priesthood of true believers to usher in or carry on their shoulders the presence of the Lord (the Ark), not in some building we call a "church", but into our cities, our towns and our homes.
Who is willing to give it ALL up (the love of this world) to carry the burden of revival. Who is willing to get under the load and start walking?
I hear people say they are going to start a church!!!! You can't start the church, because it was started over 200 years ago. You may start an idea of some form of doctrine you have built up in your mind, and get people to come hear you, but that's not church.
There is only ONE church in my town, and that's the fellowship of faithful, true believers, and four walls cannot hold it nor contain it. We don't start "new" churches, we enlarge what Jesus started when He sent the Holy Spirit to 120 believers in Acts 2:1.
God is not pleased with our "slacking" in enlarging His work.
Who really gets the glory when we do see someone get "right" with Him? Really?
Oh wretched me!!! I see just how wretched and unworthy I really am when I compare myself to the One who paid the ultimate price for us all. Who do we compare ourselves to daily? Another preacher, another Christian, lost people?
God help us, as the body of believers don't even know who their enemy really is. They think it's the Baptist, the Methodist, the Pentecostals and the other lop sided doctrinal franchises, (and don't pull that interdenominational or non denominational card out on God, as He knows, as others, that that is just a smoke screen, and especially those of us who call ourselves "Full Gospel" churches, That's a person leading a church that says "You believe like me, or hit the door").
Write it down, REVIVAL will come from Heaven, when the church gets right, for that is where the judgement must begin. Hatred, jealousy, envying, disagreements, dogma, one sided doctrine, hurt feelings...........must be dealt with in the church, among believers first, before God will ever answer our prayers for a healing and a spiritual awakening. ~ Cochise

Lukewarm!!!
Do you know what "lukewarm" means? It's having one foot in the world and one foot in the Lord. It's straddling the fence, walking down the center of the road.
It's these who will be purged when true revival comes. They are double minded, and have lost there first Love. Let judgement begin at the house of faith. Let all judgement of your brothers cease.
Those who live for the world, that love the world, are friends with the world, you will have no one to fight your battles for you when the day of reckoning comes. Will your friends be there to trod your adversaries under their feet. Will they save you. What can they do, when the prince of darkness comes, in the end?
I have in me the One who created the devil, and I will overcome him by the blood of the Lamb, the word of my testimony and that I love Him more than life.
Never judge those who have My Blood on the door posts of their hearts, even those with whom you may disagree with on doctrinal issues, says the Lord. Those that divide, those that cause division among the Brethren will not escape.
Quit celebrating the date of My birth, says the Lord, and start celebrating the event. The world cares not that the Savior died.
The love of God cannot be obtained but from God.
My paraphrase of a prophecy of Gary Carpenter ~ Cochise

A VERY IMPORTANT TRUTH!!!!
"Do a personal check up from your neck up!!!!"
Mark 2:13-22 "THIS IS WHAT I AM TALKING ABOUT!!!!! People STILL aren't getting IT!!!!" It appears to me that about all the churches that I watch and have been involved with are just shuffling the cards, but playing the same hand!!! Read Below:
How funny it would be for someone to take some unshrunk cotton and carefully to sew it just right on an old cloak. The first time it gets wet and shrinks -- rip.
Or and old, inflexible, leathery wine flask. Put some wine in there that is still alive, still active and fermenting. Eventually... splash. It will burst like slapstick.
The point is a powerful one. It's like Einstein's quote (if I remember correctly) -- you can't solve a problem with the same consciousness that created it.
Mark sets Jesus' teaching-routine within a context that might have been comedic. Jesus has been befriending sinners and tax collectors. These are the people who deliberately choose not to observe the Torah. Jesus eats and drinks with them. They are soaking him in, breathing and expanding like new wine flasks filled with living new wine.
But the old ways are bothered. The Pharisees have been trying to teach the Torah observances to the people, helping them extend their faithfulness to the scripture into every part of their ordinary lives. There is a system. It is clear and written down. There is a process for interpreting difficult decisions. They know what is right and what is required to be righteous.
These sinners and tax collectors don't follow the right way. They should be straightened out, not partied with.
Yet, the old wine didn't work for these sinners and tax-collectors. The well-worn cloth didn't fit. But something about Jesus' new wine sparkled in their mouths. Their hearts opened to what Jesus was saying. They felt joy and newly born hope. God could be with them. They could experience love and acceptance. And from that motivation of love, they could live in a new way.
Where the law had been unsuccessful, love awakened new life.
All would be well if only the Pharisees could have seen the grace in the sinners' response. "It's not our way," they might observe, "but look what good it is doing for them." But their thoughts and hearts were a bit dry and leathery. They were too comfortable in their old clothes. This unshrunk cloth pulled and tore at their fabric. Sometimes that's the way it is.
How many Church members does it take to change a light bulb?
Five. One to change the bulb and four to talk about how good that old bulb was.
CHANGE THAT LIGHT BULB??!! My grandmother gave the church that light bulb!

Shepherd or Pied Piper
Most pastors and preachers in today's society want to be popular they want to be well respected; they want their congregation and the people who listen to them to think very highly of them to call them good teacher or father or pastor so and so.
If a pastor has really been called by Jesus he has one purpose. And that purpose is to put people's hands in the hands of Jesus. His purpose is to say; "I am not the one who teaches you, it is the Holy Spirit of the LIVING GOD who teaches you."
What that pastor is doing is getting His congregation, his people not to follow him but to follow Jesus as he is following Christ, if in fact he is following Jesus.
The problem is many pastors are getting people to follow them. And people will say; "I have been following this man for ten years, he's such a good pastor. I've been following so and so and reading their books and listening to their sermons and getting their DVDs for the last 5 years." This is a problem.
Pastors need to be getting people to follow Jesus, not them. Again, the job of a pastor is to take people's hands and put their hands in the hands of Christ so they are then led by Jesus, and not by that pastor.
If a shepherd is doing the correct thing, he will lead you to Jesus, he will lead you to your knees and he leads you to start your relationship with the Lord Jess Christ.
So get on your knees, listen to HIM, don't listen to ANY pastor unless they are telling you to listen to Jesus.
May the grace of our Lord be with you. ~ Cochise

Paul Washer
Prayer Page
We who minister in Christ’s name are not called to be spiritual life coaches, facilitators, or motivational speakers! We are preachers!
We must not fall away from our primary calling to know God and to make Him known. The study must not be barren or the prayer closet closed.
As ministers, we are called to use our days searching out God's mysteries & revealing them to others through the Word preached.
We are ministers of the Gospel. It is our stewardship, privilege & burden. Though we are earthen vessels, we carry a precious treasure.

If The Shoe Fits...............
I was prophesied over last Tuesday, by someone that wasn't afraid to lay the truth out on me, and let the chips fall where they may. She hit me right between the eyes when she said, "What kind of witness are you laying up here in this hospital bed, you need to be healed and get busy in ministry". WOW!! OK.
Then she said on a scale of 1 - 10 I was .5. She told me I was a powerful man of God, but was not even a one yet. WOW!!! Ok.
Did I get mad? Cry? Whine? Throw her out? NO!!! I started praying about what she said. Most pastors, ministers would have dismissed her as a fruit cake, but I listened.
I told you guys last week, that Humility Brings Honor Brings Health!!! You're not going to be healed (personally, family wise, in the church or nation), if you are not honoring God, and the best way to do that is humble yourself and come "clean".
I did that Sunday, and it hurt. I told everyone about the sin that set me on the shelf for years. When I finished there was a release in my spirit, as well as many, many others. I have had numerous calls saying, that they went home and prayed and thought about what God's Word said, and found humility & forgiveness, all but one, who contacted me and said thanks for the "spiritual stoning".
Sunday was a "watershed" in my walk and ministry with the Lord Jesus. If I have to compromise my morals, values and convictions just to get to preach, I'll go back on the shelf. God is not honored by sin, and our tolerating it in His house. Call it out, deal with it and be healed, if not physically, at least spiritually.

Hypocrisy!!!
Hypocrisy is the state of pretending to have virtues, moral or religious beliefs, principles, etc., that one does not actually have.[1] Hypocrisy involves the deception of others and is thus a kind of lie.[1]
Hypocrisy is not simply failing to practice those virtues that one preaches. Samuel Johnson made this point when he wrote about the misuse of the charge of "hypocrisy" in Rambler No. 14:
... Nothing is more unjust, however common, than to charge with hypocrisy him that expresses zeal for those virtues which he neglects to practice; since he may be sincerely convinced of the advantages of conquering his passions, without having yet obtained the victory, as a man may be confident of the advantages of a voyage, or a journey, without having courage or industry to undertake it, and may honestly recommend to others, those attempts which he neglects himself.[2]
Thus, an alcoholic's advocating temperance, for example, would not be considered an act of hypocrisy as long as the alcoholic made no pretense of constant sobriety.

GRACE X PEACE = Spiritual Prosperity (Blessing)
Stop for a moment and ponder the glorious implication of infinite grace (II Cor 8:9) multiplied by infinite peace (Philippians 4:7).
The product surely includes eternal fullness of joy (John 15:11), abundant life (John 10:10) and an ever flowing river of "living water" (John 7:38).
The product surely includes eternal fullness of joy (John 15:11), abundant life (John 10:10) and an ever flowing river of "living water" (John 7:38).
Do you have "one heart" with God today?
If not confess whatever is between you and Him, turn from that sin and pray the prayer of David [a sinner {Ps 32:3, Pr 28:13, Ps 32:5} but a sincere seeker = Acts 13:22] in Ps 86:11 [Ps 86:11NIV -
What kind of heart does he plead for? Why?- the value of godly "fear" = 1Pe 1:17, 2Co 7:1, Job 1:1] and know He will hear in heaven [He 4:16, 1Ki 8:30] and He will grant the request of your heart [not just your "lips" but a sincere prayer from your heart! Lk 18:11, 13] [1Jn 5:14,15]).

This Is A MUST!!!!
When the devil rises up against you, through another soul, always, I mean always place Christ between you and them. Put your dukes in your pockets and keep them there. Keep your mouth shut and let the Lord Jesus battle His enemy, because that is who it is that causes discord. Be spirit filled!!!
The Abundant Power J. McConkey
“…ye shall receive power, after that the Holy Ghost is come upon you,” said Christ to His disciples. And their lives straightway became a neverceasing record of mighty deeds done in the power of the Spirit. “Stephen,” we are told, “full of faith and power, did great wonders and miracles among the people” (Acts 6:8).
Charles G. Finney, entering a mill, was so filled with the power of the Spirit that the operatives fell upon their knees in tears before the mere presence of the evangelist, ere he had uttered a word. At a camp-meeting where the most learned and eloquent sermons had utterly failed to move men to repentance, the whole congregation broke down in tears of conviction and penitence under the quiet words of an unassuming man who spoke manifestly filled with the Spirit. A word, a prayer, an earnest appeal, a song that would fall otherwise unheeded, goes home to the heart, filled with some subtle power when issuing from a Spirit-filled life.
Moody testifies that never until he knew the fullness of the Spirit did he know the fullness of God's power in his preaching, but after that his preached words never failed of some fruitage. Neither is the power of the abundant life confined to the preaching of God's word.
God gives to some power in prayer; to others power in testimony; to others power in song; to others power in suffering and affliction. Every soul that knows the Spirit's abounding life is touching other lives with power whose full scope and intensity he will never know until the Lord comes to reward.
Nor is the fullness of the Spirit limited to abundant love, peace and power. It is a life, too, of abundant joy, for the joy of the Lord is our strength; of abundant long-suffering, girding us with patience under trials that we never could otherwise endure; of abundant gentleness, as Christ's own gentleness takes possession of us; of abundant goodness, abundant faith, abundant meekness, abundant self-control. That it is not meant for apostles, or ministers, or missionaries, or teachers only, but for all of God's children is clear, “For the promise is unto you, and to your children, and to all that are afar off…” (Acts 2:39).
